Johnson/Evinrude DVA (Peak reading) and Resistance charts
Performing tests on ignition components requires the proper testing equipment. This chart assumes you have the correct tools to diagnose ignition problems accurately.
Understanding this chart:
Example: Grn = Green   Wht/Grn = White/Green Stripe
“Wire to wire” means take the measurement between those wire colors on the component.
Notes: Read from Yellow Sleeve to Black Sleeve... Brown to Purple, White to Brown, Purple to White.
Light green columns are reference readings for measured ohms of the specified component.
Light yellow columns are reference readings for measured DVA output of the specified component.

While it is possible for a component to be within specs and still be faulty, any component found outside specs should be replaced.
